Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What kinds of shots should I expect from a session with you?
A: No matter which session you pick I will always do a mix of formal and informal shots. Every session I start by getting some more traditional photos and groupings (if applicable) and then I like to play around, have fun, and capture candid and spontaneous moments.
Q: What if I don’t know what to wear?
A: This is a very common question… if you don’t know what you want to wear, just ask. If you need some affirmation that your style choices are on point or just can’t decide, just text me about it and I’ll walk you through any wardrobe related misgivings.
Q: Where should we take our pictures?
A: Wherever you want! Think of a place that is sentimental, one of your favorite places to go and relax. If you don’t have a place in mind, I always have ideas. I’ll text you the Thursday before your shoot and we’ll figure out a good spot.
Q: If my kid has a melt down, needs to pee, or needs a snack during a session does that count towards the session time?
A: I try to stay on track and work efficiently, but short breaks/ interruptions with kids are expected. We all do our best, but life happens, especially with kids. Photo session times are meant to reflect actual time clicking the shutter and I plan buffer time around my sessions so we don’t have to sweat it.
Q: How do I pay for the session?
A: Zelle, dollar bills, even quarters. Pretty much anything works just please don’t pay with pennies. I can also email invoices where you can pay with your card.
Q: What if I don’t like some of the pictures in my gallery?
A: While I strive for perfection, I sometimes miss something or make mistakes. If you aren’t completely satisfied with your gallery I won’t be satisfied either. Please don’t hesitate to let me know if there is anything you aren’t happy with. If you don’t like some of the pictures in your gallery for whatever reason I can show you other options from the shoot and swap out any image for another image you prefer.
Q: What if my kid gets sick the night before and I need to cancel last minute?
A: I’ve been there. Life happens. If someone is sick or if it’s just not a good day don’t worry about canceling/ rescheduling. It’s better not to force a shoot if it’s just not meant to be. I don’t charge cancellation/rescheduling fees.
Q: How long have you been doing lifestyle photography?
A: I’ve been doing lifestyle photography and portraiture since I graduated school in 2013… so just over 10 years. I love the work and find it very rewarding.
